Wow - memories. I hung out with the Lagwagon singer one night in Atlanta. I can't for the life of me remember why. Maybe my g'friend at the time slept with him once? That my best guess... Anyway, good song, good band, and good point. I do think the "I liked them better when they were only mine" emotion is a natural one. I mean, because I'm an old man, I remember when R.E.M. got big in 1987 and the dorkiest kid at the bus stop was singing "Exhuming McCarthy" to himself -- it made me furious! And to this day, I will maintain that Reckoning is far better than that Document album that ushered in mainstream R.E.M. That's probably because it really IS. But its also because the former was MINE and the latter was EVERYBODY'S.
